Precario, a unique candle stand, inspired by the michellin star chef, Francis Mallmann’s philosophy aims to create an intimate outdoor dining experience at his restaurant located at Dempsey Hill, Singapore. Precario sets the path free for the wax, to flow with uncertainty, thus reflecting on Mallmann’s philosophy of living life on the edge of uncertainty.
The circular rings are comprised of a concrete mixture. Bronze metal plates cover the outer parts of these rings. The concrete structure cools down the wax, which makes it harden faster while the metal melts the wax dripping on it, thereby creating contrasting wax structures.
The candle flame not only sets the mood, but the dripping wax also intrigues the diner while he curiously waits for its next move.
